Alan Tudyk’s web series, Con Man, has landed on Vimeo On Demand.
The show, which reunites Firefly’s Tudyk with Nathan Fillion, follows Wray Nerely (Tudyk) am actor who starred in Spectrum, a sci-fi series, which was canceled before its time and went on to become a cult classic beloved by fans. Ring any bells? Fillion joins him as Wray‚Äôs good friend, Jack, who played the captain in the show and has since gone on to become a major celebrity – while Wray remains distinctly not famous. Instead, he begrudging does the sci-fi convention and comic book store tour.
It’s not just Wash and Captain Reynolds getting back to together, though: the show will also feature turns from Gina Torres, Sean Maher, Jewel Staite and Summer Glau, as well as Felicia Day, Seth Green, Sean Astin and directors Joss Whedon and James Gunn.
The worldwide online premiere follows a hugely successful crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo, which saw the project raise over $3.15m in funds – more than seven times its original $425,000 target.
The show spans 13 episodes in total, with the first four already available, the next three released today (Wednesday 7th October) and another two batches of three episodes released on Wednesday 14th and 21st October respectively. All 13 episodes can be rented online for a period of three months for $9.99. Shiny.
