It’s Halloween. You’re home alone. The last thing you want to do is venture out into the dark to find your nearest HMV. No, much safer to sit indoors and stream something straight from the Internet. In the empty house. By yourself. With the lights on.

Luckily, the web is getting into the Halloween spirit more than ever this year. After 2015 saw BBC iPlayer release its second ever original feature – a horror film essay called Fear Itself – and FrightFest launch its own digital label to bring the best of the fest to VOD, AMC has gone one better and introduced its horror subscription site, Shudder, to the UK. BFI Player has restored a lost copy of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart. And even MUBI has its own collection of Halloween horrors (that you can view here).
