What’s coming soon to Shudder UK in February 2017?

Is the real world feeling a little too terrifying this February? You’re not alone. But nothing helps cure fear of reality like a dose of fictional terror, whether that’s trolls or zombies. Luckily, horror subscription site Shudder specialises in just that, with new exclusives in the coming 30 days including We Go On, a ghost story in Los Angeles, and Blind Sun, a story of bureaucratic purgatory. Ok, maybe not all of it’s a distraction from real life.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Shudder UK in February 2017:
Blind Sun – 9th February
Following a successful festival run, Shudder brings horror fans the strikingly intense and atmospheric debut feature from screenwriter and director Joyce A. Nashawati. During a scorching Greek summer, a stranded foreigner finds himself in a bureaucratic purgatory as he tries to retrieve his residence permit, while the crushing heat threatens to send him over the edge into paranoia and madness.
We Go On – 23rd February
From Andy Mitton & Jesse Holland, directors of the award-winning YellowBrickRoad, comes a fresh take on the ghost story. Paralysed by his fear of dying, Miles Grissom (Clark Freeman) offers reward money to the first person who can show him a supernatural being – anything to prove to him that we go on after our deaths. He narrows the responses down to three viable candidates – a scientist, a medium, and a worldly entrepreneur. And along with his protective mother, he embarks on an adventure through Los Angeles that spirals into a nightmare.
Troll Hunter – Coming Soon (Date TBC)
A group of students tracking bears stumble across something far bigger and older in the Norwegian outback: trolls. Luckily, they bump into a man whose job is to slay them for the government. Darkly amusing and witty, this unique Nordic horror is a little gem.
Mexico Barbaro – Coming Soon (Date TBC)
8 Mexican film directors unite to bring tales of the most terrifying Mexican traditions and legends to life. Stories of boogeymen, trolls, ghosts, monsters, Aztec sacrifices and the Day of the Dead come together to create an anthology that is as original as it is horrifying.
The Interior – Coming Soon (Date TBC)
Minimalist thriller meets backwoods horror as a listless young man leaves the tedium of Toronto city life for a journey into the British Columbian wilderness in director Trevor Juras’ enigmatic debut.
Evil in the Time of Heroes – Coming Soon (Date TBC)
With lightning-fast action and guts galore, Evil in the Time of Heroes sees Billy Zane’s cloaked hero travel from Ancient to Modern Day Greece to take down horde upon horde of bloody-thirsty zombies.
