What do David Tennant, Danny Dyer, Joshua Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and Sarah Paulson have in common? Here’s what’s coming soon to Disney+ in October 2024:
Hold Your Breath – 3rd October
Oklahoma, 1930s. The Bellum family house rests in a valley of dirt as clouds of dust blot out the sun. Margaret (Sarah Paulson) and her two daughters, Rose (Amiah Miller) and Ollie (Alona Jane Robbins), tend to their sparse farm while Margaret’s husband has left in pursuit of work. As they struggle to survive the punishing Dust Bowl environment, a mysterious stranger (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) arrives, threatening all they know and love. But is the threat a closer one?
La Maquina – 9th October
After a devastating loss, Esteban “La Máquina” Osuna (Gael García Bernal) is at a low point in his boxing career. Lucky for him, his manager and best friend Andy Lujan (Diego Luna) is determined to get him back on top. But when a nefarious organization rears its head, the stakes of this rematch become life or death. While struggling to mount a comeback, Esteban must also juggle his own personal demons and protect his family, including his ex-wife Irasema (Eiza González), a journalist who finds herself on a collision course with the dark side of the boxing world.
Grey’s Anatomy: Season 21 – 10th October
The long-running drama returns for its 21st season, continuing to follow a team of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial who are faced with life-or death decisions on a daily basis. They seek comfort from one another, and, at times, more than just friendship. Together they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white. Episodes arrive weekly.
Bobi Wine: The People’s President – 11th October
In Uganda’s 2021 presidential election, music star, activist and opposition leader Bobi Wine, together with his wife, Barbie, rallies his people in a fight against President Museveni’s 35-year regime.
911: Season 8 – 17th October
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear reimagine the procedural drama with 9-1-1. The series explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders — including police officers, firefighters and dispatchers — who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations.
Rivals – 18th October
Set in England 1986, Rivals is an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s second book in the Rutshire Chronicles that follows Rupert Campbell-Black, a notorious rake and famous showjumper before he quit for a career in politics, as he joins forces with his new neighbour Declan O’Hara to overthrow local unscrupulous television magnate Lord Tony Baddingham by bidding for his Cotswolds based independent television franchise. But Rupert and Declan’s plans are disrupted by a blossoming romance between the famously womanising Rupert and Declan’s innocent daughter Taggie O’Hara, a love triangle between Rupert, Tony and his right-hand woman, the brilliant American producer Cameron Cook and Declan’s stormy relationship with his wife the dazzling actress Maud. In the backstabbing world of television where it is every man and woman for themselves, can true love really blossom? All episodes arrive at once.
Doctor Odyssey – 24th October
From the mind of Ryan Murphy comes high-octane procedural “Doctor Odyssey.” Max (Joshua Jackson) is the new onboard doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all-hands-on-deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, followed by episodes weekly.
Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band – 25th October
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band offer the most in-depth look ever at the creation of their legendary live performances, including footage of band rehearsals, backstage moments, rare archival clips and personal reflections from Springsteen himself.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place – 30th October
Billie, a powerful young wizard at the center of a mysterious prophecy, is sent to live in the mortal world with the only wizard teacher who can help her control her powers—Justin Russo. All 9 episodes arrive at once.
