A new thriller is flying in from The Netherlands this April on Walter Presents. Flight HS13, which was a huge hit in Holland when first broadcast, promises to grip viewers, as it soars from a missing persons drama to something much bigger.
Liv has the perfect life: happily married to surgeon Simon, they have a son, she co-owns a successful design business and shares a beautiful home. However, her life is suddenly turned upside down when her husband goes on a business trip and his plane crashes. Her grieving is dramatically halted when she discovers from the passenger list that her husband never actually boarded the plane.
It transpires that upon arriving at the airport to supposedly take his flight, he went straight to arrivals where, CCTV reveals, he greeted another woman and young child; her husband appears to have a secret life and is now missing.
Confused, betrayed and angry, Flight HS13 follows Liv’s mission to find her husband, a journey that uncover a tangled web of corruption, blackmail and violence.
The series, which is directed by Hanro Smitsman, André van Duren, Iván López Núñez, boasts an impressive cast, with leads Katja Schuurman, Daniël Boissevain and Jeroen Spitzenberger sharing an impressive roster of Golden Film, Golden Calf and Rembrant awards between them.
It joins a growing number of Dutch dramas on the foreign-language streaming channel, which is available for free on All 4. They include arresting mini-series The Body Collector and The Prey, domestic drama The Swingers (aka. The Neighbours) and murder conspiracy Framed.
Flight HS13 will premiere on Channel 4 at 11pm on Tuesday 24th April, with episodes then airing weekly – and the whole box set available on All 4 at the same time as Episode 1’s debut.
