Netflix unveils trailer for The Defiant Ones

“Jimmy Iovine is the levitator. Dre is the innovator.” That’s the sound of HBO telling the story of the two hip-hop heavyweights in new documentary The Defiant Ones.
The limited series charts the careers or Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre — one the son of a Brooklyn longshoreman, the other straight out of Compton — and their improbable partnership and surprising leading roles in a series of transformative events in contemporary culture.
The series includes interviews with such music icons as Bono, David Geffen, Eminem, Nas, Stevie Nicks, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani, Jon Landau, Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Snoop Dogg, Bruce Springsteen, Diddy and will.i.am, as well as Dre and Iovine themselves.
Essential viewing for anyone interested in the history of hip-hop and modern pop, all four episodes land on Netflix UK on Friday 23rd March. Here’s a trailer:

Dr. Dre biopic The Defiant Ones has found a UK TV home at Netflix, with the series set to drop in March.
The HBO miniseries, which aired in the US last summer, tells the stories of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre — one the son of a Brooklyn longshoreman, the other straight out of Compton — and their improbable partnership and surprising leading roles in a series of transformative events in contemporary culture.
The four-part show includes interviews with such music icons as Bono, David Geffen, Eminem, Nas, Stevie Nicks, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani, Jon Landau, Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Snoop Dogg, Bruce Springsteen, Diddy and will.i.am, as well as Dre and Iovine themselves, and is described by the streaming giant as “essential viewing for anyone interested in the history of hip-hop and modern pop”.
