Arnold Schwarzenegger is saddling up for Outrider, a new Western series in the pipeline at Amazon.
A mystery set in 1800s Oklahoma, it will tell the story of a deputy in Indian Territory is tasked by a brutal judge to apprehend a legendary outlaw in the wilderness – and team up with ruthless Federal Marshal to make sure justice is served.
According to Deadline, Arnie will star as the Federal Marshal, who immigrated to America as a child and finds himself in a world where the line between enemy and ally, and between good and bad, is blurred. It marks the Austrian actor’s first major scripted telly role, although he is no stranger to the small screen, of course, after the former governor of California took over from Donald Trump on The Apprentice.
The series is co-written by Trey Callaway (APB, The Messengers, CSI: NY) and Mark Montgomery, with Arnie attached to executive produce, alongside Mace Neufeld, who is an EP on Amazon’s upcoming Jack Ryan series.
