Apple TV+ has already renewed Shrinking for a fourth season.
The poignant comedy series follows Jimmy (Jason Segel), a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.
Co-created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, the show has been a hit for Apple TV+, with Emmy nominations racking up for its cast, including Jessica Williams, Michael Urie and Harrison Ford – his first Emmy nod for his supporting role as Paul, Jimmy’s grumpy boss. The ensemble also includes Christa Miller, Luke Tennie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley.
Season 3 premiered on TV this season, welcoming back guest stars Brett Goldstein, Damon Wayans Jr, Wendie Malick and Cobie Smulders, along with new additions Jeff Daniels and Michael J Fox, as well as Candice Bergen, Sherry Cola and Isabella Gomez.
Before Season 3 had even debuted this week, Apple TV+ had already greenlit a fourth chapter.
Our review hails the show as “an unlikely workplace comedy, a thoughtful ensemble drama and a strangely uplifting story about learning to move on.”
