Paramount+ unwraps its latest bet on a big franchise this December, with the debut of its Dexter prequel series. It’s joined by a slew of true crime programmes and another prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Paramount+ UK in December 2024:

Snatched: Season 1 – 5th December

From the team that brought you The Child Snatcher, this is a series of three shocking, terrifying and barely believable films about urban legends that just happen to be true, and the purest evil known to man. All 3 episodes arrive at once.

Zorro: Season 1 – 6th December

Jean Dujardin stars in this new series based on the iconic hero. Set in 1821, it follows Don Diego de la Vega as he becomes mayor of Los Angeles and has to face off a corrupt businessman, Don Emmanuel. He hasn’t used his Zorro identity in 20 years. Can he salvage his marriage and sanity amidst the chaos? All 8 episodes arrive at once.

Dexter: Original Sin: Season 1 – 13th December

Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. Episodes arrive weekly.

Making a Serial Killer: Season 2 – 13th December

This documentary series returns to unpick the crimes of some of America’s most notorious killers. Episodes 1 to 3 arrive at once, followed by episodes weekly until the finale on 31st January 2025.

The Body: Season 1 – 19th December

This true crime anthology series traces the unfolding tales of some of modern history’s most compelling criminal mysteries. All 4 episodes arrive at once.

Queen Woo: Season 1 – 23rd December

It’s the Goguryeo era of imperial rule in Korea, and the heirless King Go-guk-cheon is dead. Without a son to inherit the king’s throne, the five tribes across the land fiercely battle for power. It falls on the newly-widowed Queen Woo to establish a new king — and ensure her people’s survival — by marrying one of the king’s power-hungry brothers in the next 24 hours. If the five tribes hear of the king’s death, a similar fate awaits Queen Woo. Can she find the right suitor in time to prevent the collapse of the Goguryeo Kingdom? All 8 episodes arrive at once.

A Quiet Place: Day One – 25th December

Experience the day when the world went quiet in this prequel to 2018’s suspense- heavy horror thriller.

The Road Trip: Season 1 – 26th December

Can someone be the right person, just at the wrong time? And is there ever a future in returning to a past love? From the makers of The Flatshare and based on the best-selling book by Beth O’Leary, this romantic comedy is about giving love another shot. Emma Appleton portrays the spirited Addie, Laurie Davidson takes on the soulful Dylan, and David Jonsson is the self-assured Marcus. In addition, Isabella Laughland plays Addie’s straight-talking sister Deb, and Angus Imrie is eccentric ride-along Rodney. All 6 episodes arrive at once.

From writer and director John Krasinski, IF follows a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends – and what she does with that superpower – as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids. Featuring an all-star cast including Ryan Reynolds, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Phoebe Waller- Bridge, Steve Carrell, Fiona Shaw and more.
