Slow Horses gallops back on to our screens in September, and a new trailer gives us a fresh look at its fourth season.
The darkly amusing espionage drama follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in an MI5 dumping ground department known unaffectionately as Slough House.
“This enjoyably low-key thriller is an entertaining walk on the shabby side of spying,” we wrote in our review of the series.
Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but misanthropic leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world. The returning ensemble cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce.
Season 4 will be based on Spook Street, the fourth novel in Mick Herron’s series of books, and is once again adapted for the screen by Will Smith (Veep). It opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking Slough House’s already unstable foundations.
The new season will be directed by Adam Randall and will see new faces join the cast; including Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke and James Callis.
You can see them in action on 4th September, when the first two episodes premiere on Apple TV+, followed by episodes weekly until the finale on 2nd October.
