Boardwalk Empire Season 5 will be available to watch online in the UK legally on Saturday 13th September.
The final season of the series premieres on Sky Atlantic HD at 9pm. Don’t have Sky? The show will also be available to stream live online on subscription VOD service NOW TV. An Entertainment Pass gives you live online access to Sky’s TV channels, including Sky Atlantic and Sky 1, as well as the ability to catch up with shows on-demand for £6.99 a month – no contract.
Never seen Boardwalk Empire? Seasons 1 to 4 are also available to watch on-demand on NOW TV – as well as the first episode of Damon Lindelof’s new series, The Leftovers, and The Walking Dead Seasons 1 to 3 (with Season 4 and 5 coming in October).
HBO’s award-winning series, set in 1931 Atlantic City, sees Steve Buscemi’s Nucky Thompson looking to legitimise himself through alliances with liquor producers, while rivals Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza) and Meyer Lansky (Anatol Yusef) seek to consolidate their power in the wake of Arnold Rothstein’s death and eliminate all competition – by any means necessary.
In the first episode of the fifth season, Nucky is awash in memories from pier-boy days growing up in 1884 Atlantic City, when the young Nucky (Nolan Lyons) caught the eye of the Commodore (John Ellison Conlee.) In 1931 Cuba, Nucky joins Sally Wheet (Patricia Arquette) and, with a US Senator in tow, forges ties with Bacardi Rum in hopes of Prohibition’s repeal in the US.
The show also stars Michael Shannon as former Federal Agent Nelson Van Alden, caught up in gangland conflicts; Shea Whigham as Nucky’s brother Eli, who went underground after killing a federal agent; Michael Kenneth Williams as Nucky’s former ally Chalky White; and Jeffrey Wright as Valentin Narcisse, Chalky’s nemesis.
New cast members for season five include Jim True-Frost, Matt Letscher, Giampiero Judica and Louis Cancelmi.
