Introducing… the Netflix random button!
David Farnor | On 08, Jun 2013
Last night, we watched Ghostbusters on Netflix. Ghostbusters is 107 minutes long. It took us at least half that amount of time to decide what to see in the first place.
That’s when it hit us. It’s a pain having to make decisions. What to eat. Where to go. What to wear. The worst decision of all? What to watch.
There are over 5,000 movies and TV shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime. No wonder it’s hard to choose.
UK internet users spend 240 million hours every month watching online video content, according to Experian Hitwise. Using the Ghostbusters ratio (the kind of science of which Dr. Venkman would approve), that means we spend a total of 112 million hours and 8 minutes every month staring at the screen pondering what to watch on Netflix or what to stream on Amazon.
We at VODzilla.co do our best to help you sort the Zulus from the Zookeepers, even when it hurts – see our Arrested Development Season Four reviews – but sometimes you want a little surprise in your stream. A risk with your rental. Sometimes, you wish there was a Netflix random button.
So we invented one. Don’t know what to watch? Don’t want to spend half your evening making decisions? Click here and let fate do the thinking for you.
Then we can spend those 112 million hours and 8 minutes every month doing something fun instead. Like watching Ghostbusters. 62,921,348 times.
