Sky is heading back to Westeros this January, with the arrival of Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It’s joined by new Sky original Under Salt Marsh, plus a new Law & Order box set. For more information on the latest Sky TV packages and pricing, click here.

Matlock: Season 2 (Sky Witness 9pm) – 7th January
Kathy Bates returns as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, the brilliant septuagenarian attorney who rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses clever tactics to win cases while hiding a hidden agenda. As we reopen the case files on season two, Matty questions the paternity of the man claiming to be Alfie’s father, while her partner Olympia tries to protect ex-husband Julian’s involvement in the Wellbrexa case. Episodes arrive weekly.
Landscape Artist of the Year: Season 11 (Sky Arts, 8pm) – 14th January
Landscape Artist of the Year returns for its eleventh competition, taking place across a range of stunning and historically rich UK locations, offering artists captivating new scenes to interpret. This year’s filming locations include Dover Castle in Kent, The Lake District in Cumbria, The Thames from HMS Wellington in London, The Ouse Valley Viaduct in Sussex and The Falkirk Wheel in Scotland.
Rob & Romesh Vs: Season 8 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 15th January
Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan close out their eighth series of adventures as they take on our very own Team GB ahead of the Winter Olympics. All episodes are available on-demand at once.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 19th January
A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends. Under Salt Marsh (Sky Atlantic) – 30th January
From Claire Oakley, this thriller is set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen, a tight-knit community precariously nestled between towering mountains and a fast-encroaching sea that threatens its very existence. As a once-in-a-generation storm begins to gather far out at sea, former detective turned teacher Jackie Ellis (Kelly Reilly) discovers the body of her 8-year-old pupil, Cefin, seemingly drowned. The discovery sends shockwaves through the community, reviving the ghost of an unsolved cold case that rocked the town three years prior – the disappearance of Jackie’s niece, Nessa, which cost her career. Cefin’s death summons Jackie’s former partner, Detective Eric Bull (Rafe Spall), back to Morfa Halen to lead the investigation into a community he failed once before. Convinced the cases are linked, Jackie and Bull must reconcile and race to uncover long-buried secrets inside Morfa, before the storm breaks and all the evidence is gone for good.
Evil: Season 4 – Date TBC
Sceptical psychologist Kristen Bouchard joins David Acosta, who is training to be a Catholic priest, and a blue collar contractor as they investigate the church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and other extraordinary occurrences. Their job is to assess if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work, examining the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. All episodes of the critically acclaimed mystery thriller are also available for the first time on Sky and NOW.

28 Years Later – 1st January
It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

After a heist, four criminals lay low in a remote safehouse, waiting for orders. As paranoia builds, one thing becomes clear – the real threat may not be outside, but among them. Taught thriller starring Eddie Marsan, Sam Claffin, Burn Gorman, Suki Waterhouse and Rory Kinnear.
Nuremberg – 9th January
Based on Jack El-Hai’s acclaimed book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist, Nuremberg is inspired by the true story of the eponymous trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film explores the psychological chess match between American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley and Nazi leader Hermann Göring. Russell Crowe delivers a chilling performance as Göring, while Rami Malek portrays Kelley, tasked with evaluating the mental fitness of Nazi war criminals.
Borderline – 10th January
In 1990s Los Angeles, a twisted sociopathic stalker (Ray Nicholson, Smile 2)breaks into the home of a popstar (Samara Weaving, Ready or Not) hoping to marry her. With only her loyal bodyguard there to protect her, she must survive the frightening ordeal.
Cookster: The Darkest Days – 11th January
A dyslexic teen misunderstood by his family and desperate for respect, becomes a drug dealer struggling with addiction and debt while a rival threatens to destroy his world, driving him apart from the woman he loves.
Smurfs – 15th January
When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.
The Ballad of Wallis Island – 16th January
Charles (Tim Key) is an eccentric lottery winner, living alone on a remote island with dreams of getting his favourite musicians, McGwyer Mortimer (Tom Basden & Carey Mulligan) back together. His fantasy turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.
Beast of War – 17th January
When their boat is sunk while crossing the Timor Sea during World War II, a young troop of Australian soldiers must find a way to survive the harsh seas on a quickly shrinking life raft. Hundreds of miles from anywhere, they must confront interpersonal conflicts, enemy attacks, and the advances of one very large, very hungry great white shark. From Kiah Roache-Turner, director of Wyrmwood and Sting, comes this uniquely terrifying tale.
The Toxic Avenger – 23rd January
When a downtrodden janitor, Winston Gooze, is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, he’s transformed into a new kind of hero: The Toxic Avenger. Now, Toxie must rise from outcast to savior, taking on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community. Super Charlie – 24th January
Willie’s dream of fighting crime with his cop dad is shattered when his baby brother Charlie arrives – who turns out to have actual superpowers.
Xeno – 25th January
A teenager makes a terrifying extraterrestrial friend after it crashes nearby in the desert. The youngster manages to deal with her sad mother and the mother’s violent boyfriend while simultaneously protecting her dangerous new buddy.
The Naked Gun – 30th January
Only one man has the particular set of skills… to lead Police Squad and save the world: Lt. Frank Drebin Jr (Liam Neeson). Following in his father’s footsteps, he must solve a murder case to prevent Police Squad from closure.
Prisoner of War – 31st January
A British RAF Wing Commander during World War II is captured and forced to fight in a Japanese internment camp in this action thriller.
