Watch: Trailer for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 Part 2
David Farnor | On 17, Jan 2019
“I’m living my dream – and not the one where I get chased by Cap’n Crunch.” That’s the sound of Titus (Tituss Burgess) in the final ever episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which arrive on Netflix this month.
Tina Fey’s comedy, which stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy, follows a young woman who reclaims her life and starts over in New York, after escaping from a cult where she lived for 15 years. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the streaming giant’s flagship original titles, thanks in no small part to the scene-stealing trio of Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane. However, fans were dealt a blow last year, when it became apparent that Season 4 of the series would be its last – and, with Part 1 out of the way, it’s only matter of days until Part 2 bids farewell to the show.
The new trailer gives us a taste of what’s in store, and closure looks to be in the air, as Kimmy promotes the kids’ book she wrote, The Legends of Greemulax, and Krakowski’s Jacqueline declares that Kimmy wants to change the world. Also on the way is a Sliding Doors-style episode, which will explore what might have happened if Kimmy was never kidnapped in the first place.
The last six episodes will debut on 25th January. Here’s the video:
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 will return… in 2019
1st June 2018
It’s bad news for Kimmy Schmidt fans this week, as the show has announced that its fourth season will not return until 2019.

However, fans were dealt a blow this month, when it became apparent that Season 4 of the series would be its last.
Now, there’s another piece of bad news to swallow, with the reveal that Season 4 is not only split in two parts – to allow Fey time to launch Mean Girls the musical – but also that Part 2 won’t be on our screens until next year.
The last six episodes will debut on 25th January 2019, Netflix confirmed on Twitter.

The consolation news is that the first six episodes of the 12-episode run arrived on Netflix this week. Season 4 sees the comedy tackle the #MeToo movement, among other things, with Kimmy accused of sexual harassment by a male employee in her new workplace – a reversal of the higher profile cases featured in the media in the last year. Titus (Tituss Burgess), meanwhile, progresses with his acting career, with Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) as his agent.
Next January, though, may not be the last we see of Kimmy, with THR reporting that Universal and Netflix are in talks for a potential feature film.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt tackles #MeToo movement in Season 4 trailer
17th May 2018
Kimmy Schmidt is going to work in Season 4 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and the series isn’t shying away from addressing the issues facing the workforce today.
The #MeToo movement will be “very present” in Season 4, co-showrunner Robert Carlock revealed earlier this year.
“Our characters are not fully aware exactly of what’s going on in the world, for various reasons,” he explained to THR. “But [the #MeToo movement and wave of sexual misconduct claims are] very present, especially in the first half of the season as we’ve talked about it. Kimmy [will be] confronting some things in a workplace. It’s the first time she’s ever been in a workplace, and that changes the rules. That movement, whether we talk about it expressly or not, is very present in how Kimmy looks at the world, and you talk about someone who represents the relief of that happening and [the sense that] hopefully it’s not too late for other people.”
The first full trailer – following a neat spoof sitcom video this montn – gives us a taste of how the show will address the issue, with Kimmy accused of sexual harassment by a male employee, in a reversal of the higher profile cases featured in the media in the last year. And, of course, there’s a glimpse of what’s in store for Titus (Tituss Burgess) and Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski), as he progresses with his acting career, with Jacqueline as his agent.
The first six episodes of Season 4 land on Friday 30th May, with the later due this year – and, according to some reports, may well be Kimmy’s last. Here’s the trailer:
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt goes to work in Season 4 trailer
4th May 2018
Kimmy Schmidt is going to work in the official trailer for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4.
Netflix’s show, which stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy, follows a young woman who reclaims her life and starts over in New York, after escaping from a cult where she lived for 15 years. Now, after three seasons of juggling trauma, life lessons and friendships with the scene-stealing trio of Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane, Kimmy is getting a job in the city.
The new video, which takes the form of a fake sitcom called Little Girl Big City, gives us a taste of what that looks like, complete with pantsuit and beret, not to mention a tech start-up with a silly name and a brutal approach to firing employees.
The #MeToo movement will also be “very present” in Season 4, co-showrunner Robert Carlock has told THR.
“Our characters are not fully aware exactly of what’s going on in the world, for various reasons. But [the #MeToo movement and wave of sexual misconduct claims are] very present, especially in the first half of the season as we’ve talked about it.
What else can we expect from Season 4? There is the possible return of Titus’ ex, Mikey (Mike Carlsen), the promise of a happy ending, and, of course, “a lot of singing”. We also know that it’s going to be the final season of the show, according to THR, with the run split into two halves to allow time for Tina Fey to launch the new Mean Girls musical on Broadway. While Season 4 will be Kimmy’s last, though, there are also talks of a movie follow-up
The first six episodes of Season 4 land on Friday 30th May. Here’s the trailer:
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 set for May
15th February 2018
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will return this May for Season 4, Netflix has announced.
The show, which stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy, follows a young woman who reclaims her life and starts over in New York, after escaping from a cult where she lived for 15 years.
Created by Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond and David Miner, the show has become one of Netflix’s best comedies, boasting increasingly scene-stealing turns from Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane.
“Kimmy may be the one with her name in the title, but there’s no denying that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is now just as much about its supporting characters,” we wrote in our review of Season 3.
Now, they’re all set to return for a fourth run this May, after a swift renewal decision by the streaming giant last year. This year, however, the show will be split into two parts, with the first six episodes of Season 4 arriving on Friday 30th May, and the second half of the season launching later this year.
Netflix renews Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt for Season 4
15th June 2017
Netflix has renewed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt for Season 4.
The comedy series stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy, who escapes from a cult after being kept trapped underground for 15 years and decides to reclaim her life and start over in New York City. The result is as bizarre, colourful and hilarious as you would expect from creators Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond and David Miner.
The Emmy nominated series is produced by Universal Television, Little Stranger Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment and Bevel Gears for Netflix, with Kemper’s lead turn supported by increasingly scene-stealing turns from Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane.
“Kimmy may be the one with her name in the title, but there’s no denying that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is now just as much about its supporting characters,” we wrote in our review of Season 3.
“Kimmy Schmidt continues to be one of the smartest comedies out there, chock-full of pop culture references and gags about everything from religion and sexism to wealth and beauty. In what other show could the line “I didn’t steal her boyfriend – he was made of cans and I had the magnet” be hilarious yet also make total sense?”
The renewal of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt follows surprise decisions by Netflix to cancel Sense8 and The Get-Down.
