Only Murders Season 4 set for August release
VOD News | On 17, May 2024
Only Murders in the Building will be back on our screens this August, Disney has announced.
From the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman and John Hoffman, the murder-mystery comedy follows three strangers, Charles, Oliver and Mabel (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez), who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio employ their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, they unravel the complex secrets of the building that stretch back years.
Hot on the heels of Season 3, which added Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd as guest stars, a fourth run was swiftly greenlit. Season 4 will continue the show’s star appeal, with Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy and Richard Kind all joining the ensemble.
In Season 4, the amateur podcasting trio wrestles with the shocking events surrounding Charles’ stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch). Questioning whether she or Charles was the intended victim, their investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As Charles, Oliver and Mabel race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.
You can see them in action on 27th August when the series premieres on Disney+ UK. In the meantime, watch this space for a trailer and more details.
Only Murders in the Building renewed for Season 4
4th October 2023
Hulu has renewed Only Murders in the Building for Season 4.
The show was swiftly renewed for a second season, which investigated the death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger – onlyfor the trio to be publicly implicated and made the subjects of a competing podcast. The series then returned for a third season, which sees the trio joined by Paul Rudd as Ben Glenroy, a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), the result is a whodunnit that puts Oliver back in theatre surrounded by people who will do anything it takes to put on a show.
Now, hot on the heels of the Season 3 finale, Hulu has announced that the show will return for a fourth chapter, picking up on the closing cliffhanger that adds a personal note to the show’s next mystery.
