New trailer for True Detective Season 2

A new trailer for True Detective Season 2 has been released by HBO – and it’s a doozy.
“Sometimes, your worst self is your best self,” argues Vince Vaughn, who will go against type as a criminal in California.
The drama’s second run stars Colin Farrell as Detective Ray Velcoro, Taylor Kitsch as Officer Paul Woodrugh, and Rachel McAdams as Detective Ani Bezzerides. It follows the corruption in the state’s police force; a change in subject as well as cast from the first season, which saw Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey pursuing a serial killer in Louisiana.
The location was a central part of the mood and atmosphere of Season 1, even seeping into the title sequence. “It’s a fascinating and inspiring place and certainly full of complexity,” Patrick Clair, the director of the True Detective opening credits told us in an exclusive interview this week.
From the first shot of a spaghetti junction at night, even with director Cary Fukunaga stepping away from the camera, it certainly looks like Season 2 could be all of those things.
