Imagine you are blind. Imagine you are utterly dependent on an animal – your guide dog – to make sense of the world around you. Then imagine your guide dog disappears.
Award-nominated indie Greyhawk follows a blind veteran on a tough London estate. The film, which is the debut of director Guy Pitt, sees Alex Newman (A Lonely Place to Die, Bright Young Things) star as the former soldier, who was blinded in Afghanistan before moving to the titular estate, accompanied by his trust companion, the labrador Quince.
Alec is joined by a cast that includes Jack Shepherd (aka Wycliffe), Juliet Oldfield (currently starring in Sky’s Critical) and Zoe Telford (The Painted Veil and BBC’s Sherlock).
The movie was nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film at the 2014 Edinburgh Film Festival. It is released on DVD on Monday 25th May, but is now available to watch online on iTunes.
