Ranked: The Final Destination films
VOD News | On 25, May 2025
This month, New Line Cinema’s bloody, successful franchise returned to cinemas for the latest instalment in the long-running Final Destination series.
The movies began in 2000 with a film based on a script that was first written as a potential episode of The X-Files. Since then, it has spawned five films, two comic books and ten books. The newest chapter – the sixth film in the franchise – takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice. Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.
But how did it first start? And which films should you watch, revisit or skip as you catch up on the series to date? Here’s our rundown of each film – ranked in order of sheer scariness and entertainment value.
