Invincible Season 2 returns this March
David Farnor | On 23, Jan 2024
Invincible Season 2 will return this March for its second half.
Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father, Nolan (JK Simmons) is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet.
Co-starring Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson and Seth Rogen, the show premiered back in 2021.
“Star-studded, intelligent, spectacular and grounded, Invincible is more than worthy,” we wrote in our review.
The eight-episode Season 2 premiered in November last year, but only dropped the first four episodes before hitting the pause button. Now, Amazon has announced that the second four episodes will finally arrive on Thursday 14th March, with episodes arriving weekly.

Part 1, comprising four episodes, will premiere weekly on Amazon Prime Video, starting on Friday 3rd November. Here’s the new video:

Trailer: Invincible Season 2 set for late 2023 release
29th January 2023
Invincible will official return to Amazon Prime Video in late 2023, and a new teaser for Season 2, well, spells out exactly that.
The hour-long adult animated series from Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) is based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. It follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (JK Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
Invincible stars Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (This is the End), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday, Girls), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Walton Goggins (Justified), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), Mahershala Ali(Moonlight), Melise (The Flash), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons), Grey Griffin (Avengers Assemble), Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) and more.
“Star-studded, intelligent, spectacular and grounded, Invincible is more than worthy,” we wrote in our review of Season 1. That, however, was way back in May 2021, and fans have become impatient for more of the show. The new teaser gives some excuses for why it’s taken so long, including storyboarding and animating, as well as writing, but also promises that Season 2 will debut later this year. More or less.

Amazon released the Season 1 finale today on Prime Video but has already greenlit another two outings.
“I’m extremely thankful to Amazon for the support and dedication they’ve put behind Invincible,” said Kirkman. “The comic book is truly a love letter to a genre that Cory (Walker) and I grew up reading and loving, and it’s been a gratifying journey to watch our characters come to life again through the animated series. We’re beyond excited to continue this story for at least two more seasons.”
“Invincible is a crowning example of how a fresh and edgy approach to the superhero genre can resonate with audiences around the globe and we’re so glad that Invincible, one of our earliest investments in the adult animation genre, has accomplished just that,” said Vernon Sanders, Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios. “Robert’s no-holds-barred storytelling coupled with a first-class voice cast delivered on fans’ wildest expectations and we’re thrilled to be giving them more Invincible.”
