Clio Barnard’s The Arbor released for free online
VOD News | On 11, Jun 2020
Clio Barnard’s The Arbor is available to stream online.
In celebration of a decade since the release of the artist and director’s debut , Artangel is streaming the film for free online.
A groundbreaking dramatised documentary about the troubled lives of Bradford playwright Andrea Dunbar (Rita, Sue and Bob Too!) and her daughters, it sees actors lip-synching authentic interviews. The result is a documentary about Dunbar and family, but one that takes verbatim theatre one step further to powerful effect, intercutting this footage with Dunbar’s own semi-autobiographical plays, The Arbor (1980) and Rita, Sue and Bob Too! (1982).
The film is being streamed from 5pm today until 7pm on 16th June, with Clio Barnard also live online in conversation discussing the film and her other work at 7pm on 17th June.
