Netflix is bringing back one of its biggest hitters this summer, with the return of Wednesday Addams – joined by a triple-bill of British debuts, including Hostage, Love Is Blind UK and The Thursday Murder Club.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in August 2025:

Normal People: Season 1 – 3rd August

This smart and sensual adaptation is powered by its two impressive young stars.

Wednesday: Season 2 – 6th August

Here we woe again. Tim Burton’s live-action series inspired by the Addams Family stars Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzman as Gomez, Gwendoline Christie and Christina Ricci. The sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charts Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Season 2 will premiere in two parts, with the first part on 6th August and the second part on 3rd September.

Maria – 8th August

Angelina Jolie stars as legendary opera singer Maria Callasin director Pablo Larraín’s reimagining of the diva’s final days.

The Iron Claw – 9th August

Sean Durkin’s macho wrestling drama is a hard-hitting study of loyalty, love and loss.

Love Is Blind: UK: Season 2 – 13th August

Emma and Matt Willis return for a second round of Netflix’s reality dating series in which British singles look for love and get engaged, all before meeting in person. But who will say “I do”?

Night Always Comes – 15th August

Facing eviction in a city her family can no longer afford, a woman plunges into a desperate and increasingly dangerous all-night search to raise $25,000.

Hostage

When the British prime minister’s husband is kidnapped and the French president starts receiving threats, both leaders must face an impossible choice. Written by Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) and starring Suranne Jones and Julie Delpy.

Long Story Short – 22nd August

From the creator of BoJack Horseman comes this animated comedy about a family over time, following siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again.

The Thursday Murder Club – 28th August

Based on Richard Osman’s bestselling novel, the book follows four irrepressible retirees who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun, but their causal sleuthing takes a thrilling turn when they find themselves with a real whodunnit on their hands. Directed by Chris Columbus, the film stars Helen Mirren as ex-spy Elizabeth, Ben Kingsley as ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim and Pierce Brosnan as former union activist Ron, alongside Celia Imrie as ex-nurse Joyce.
