Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever. That’s what Netflix promises is in store for four friends in its new comedy series, arriving next week.
The series follows the group of teens as they make the most of their last weekend before high school. A comic convention has come to town, and they will do whatever it takes to be part of the magic. But after a wild party, a lost dog and a destroyed house, their friendship is put to the test.
The show is created by Robin Stein and Dan Franklin, with Jeremy Garelick (The Break-Up, The Wedding Ringer) on showrunner duties. Dan Cross and Dave Hoge (EPs of The Thundermans, Pair of Kings) will exec-produce, alongside Fernando Szew, Robyn Snyder and Michael McGahey for producers MarVista Entertainment. It premieres on Friday 19th October. Here’s the full trailer:

Netflix gets ready for the Best Worst Weekend Ever

Netflix is getting ready to have the Best Worst Weekend Ever, with the commissioning of a new comedy series.
The eight-part show follows four friends as they make the most of their last weekend before high school. A comic convention has come to their town, and they will do whatever it takes to be part of the magic. But after a wild party, a lost dog and a destroyed house, their friendship is put to the test.
It is created by Robin Stein and Dan Franklin, with Jeremy Garelick (The Break-Up, The Wedding Ringer) on showrunner duties. Dan Cross and Dave Hoge (EPs of The Thundermans, Pair of Kings) will exec-produce, alongside Fernando Szew, Robyn Snyder and Michael McGahey for producers MarVista Entertainment.
The series marks Netflix’s increasing push into the teen market, as it looks to win younger viewers to go with its older prestige drama fans. While it has acquired the UK rights to Riverdale from The CW and Beyond from Freeform, the streaming giant is now looking to start beating them at their own game: it has already renewed 13 Reasons Why for a second season, recently released Atypical, a comedy-drama about a teenager with autism, and has also ordered another new high school comedy, Alexa &a Katie.
