Disney’s Netflix rival is here, serving up Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar originals, along with a post-modern revamp of High School Musical and almost every episode of The Simpsons.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and Disney’s newcomer status in the streaming game, a lot of that new content has been delayed, but The Mandalorian’s weekly drops continue to lead an impressive charge of Disney+ originals through the autumn. From a new Star Wars Holiday Special and a behind-the-scenes Marvel series to a festive family flick starring Anna Kendrick and a special new series of Mickey Mouse shorts, here’s what’s coming soon to Disney+ UK in November 2020:
The Simpsons: Season 31 – 6th November
Springfield’s latest 22-episode season features an all-star line-up of celebrity guest appearances including Billy Porter, John Mulaney, Jason Momoa, Kevin Smith, Joey King, Lilly Singh, Cate Blanchett, Chrissy Teigen, and Jim Parsons, with musical performances from John Legend and Weezer.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Season 7 – 13th November
The final season of Marvel’s small screen spin-off sees Coulson and the Agents of SHIELD thrust backward in time and stranded in 1932 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, then arrive weekly.
LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special – 17th November
Lucasfilm will be hoping to erase the memories of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978 with this playful new LEGO take on the Life Day holiday, featuring Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids.
Marvel’s 616 – 20th November
Through the lens of different filmmakers, each documentary in this behind-the-scenes dives into the deeper context that made the Marvel Universe. Collectively, these creatively unique films weave together a tapestry detailing how Marvel has continued to influence our lives.
The Real Right Stuff – 20th November
The Real Right Stuff tells the remarkable true story of the nation’s first astronauts,
the original Mercury 7, and pulls from hundreds of hours of archival film and radio
broadcasts, interviews, home movies and other never-before-seen material to
catapult viewers back to the late 1950s.
Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse – 18th November
To mark Mickey’s birthday, this new 20-part series follows Mickey and his best pals – Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto – as they embark on a string of adventures, navigating the curveballs of a wild and zany world containing the magic of Disney.
