What’s leaving Amazon Prime Video UK in February 2017?

Exercise. Diet. Laundry. Homework. By the time we reach the middle of February, all those New Year’s resolutions we made at the start of last month are already starting to fade. But don’t let the same thing happen to your resolution to get through your watchlist: with contracts expiring every week and month, things are being removed from (and added to) your favourite subscription services all the time. We’re here to make sure you don’t miss them.
For Amazon Prime Video subscribers, there are some must-see movies disappearing this month, from a Ben Affleck Oscar-winner to Christopher Nolan’s final Batman flick. Indeed, DC Comics fans are the ones who need to get streaming this month, as a host of Amazon’s excellent catalogue of superhero animations prepares to depart, from TV series (including Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited) to movies (including Wonder Woman and Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker).
While titles often get added again to Amazon Prime Video in the future, and there are some DC animations that show no signs of leaving yet (hello to Beware the Batman, Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts and JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time), this February is your last chance to stream the following on Amazon Prime Video UK:
Argo – 18th February
Ben Affleck’s Oscar-winning thriller, based on true events, sees a CIA agent (Baffleck) lead a rescue team to extract six kidnapped US diplomats from Tehran during the Iran hostage crisis. The mission? Pretend to make a Hollywood movie… Tense, funny, classy stuff that confirmed beyond a doubt that Baffleck was more than his beard and chin.
The Dark Knight Rises – 20th February
Christopher Nolan’s third Batman flick not be as strong as the previous two but from Anne Hathaway’s slinky cat burglar to Tom Hardy’s physically intimidating Bane, it’s an epic conclusion to the trilogy.
Batman: The Animated Series: Season 1 to 4 – No Longer Being Removed
The Animated Series started a popular trend of seeing exactly what you can do with everyone’s favourite Bat. What happens if Harley-Quinn teams up with Poison Ivy? What stories are told when Penguin and The Joker play cards? Leaping about between Batman’s escapades, the 1995 series (all four seasons of it) shows the hero at his most fun. Gotham is still a tough place, but it’s littered with brightly-coloured super-villains and dastardly plots.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm – No Longer Being Removedy
From Shirley Walker’s music to Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm’s direction, this animated outing for Batman is a stylish, dark affair, featuring Mark Hamill on terrifying form as The Joker.
