Alex returns to Walter Presents this December

Dragomir Mrsic is coming back to Walter Presents just in time for Christmas, with Alex returning for Season 2.
The cop thriller, which premiered on All 4’s global TV platform last year, is co-created by Mrsic, a Swedish star who is far from your typical actor. Dragomir has been able to carve out a very successful career both in Sweden and internationally, despite his own criminal past, serving a 3 year prison sentence for his involvement in the biggest bank robbery in Swedish history. Viewers may recognise him from the blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow, which he starred in opposite Tom Cruise, but he is also a Taekwondo Champion, a coach for the Swedish Olympic Committee, a trainer to Hollywood elite and a gym owner.
In Alex, he stars as the eponymous policeman and father, who has a hefty price to pay for creating a web of lies that not even he can untangle himself from. On the outside, Alex is an exemplary citizen: a dedicated father and law-enforcer. In reality he is drug-fuelled, dirty cop whose dealings with a powerful gang leave him trapped in a very dark situation.
“A classic bent police story, but one given heft by Dragomir’s gruff charisma,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
Season 2 picks up as we discover that Alex isn’t the most corrupt cop in the coop, and now he’s serving hard time. The catch is that prison walls aren’t a boundary for the criminal underworld.
Surviving as an ex-cop in a high-security jail, though, is no easy task. Alex’s only chance might very well be to join the gangs he fought in his previous life. But when his former police partner, Frida, offers him a deal to reduce his sentence in exchange for becoming an undercover informant, hope reignites in Alex. His family needs him, especially his son, Simon, who is being led down the wrong path. Maybe he still has a shot at redemption?
Season 2 will premiere on Channel 4 on 8th December at 11pm, with the full box set available on Walter Presents after its broadcast.
Walter Presents introduces Channel 4 viewers to Alex
25th August 2018
Walter Presents will introduce Channel 4 viewers to Alex this September, a dirty cop from Sweden.
The series will air simultaneously on the free-to-air channel and on All 4’s foreign language TV platform.
It’s co-created by Mikael Crossa and Dragomir Mrsic, a Swedish star who is far from your typical actor.
He also stars in the lead role as a policeman and father, who has a hefty price to pay for creating a web of lies that not even he can untangle himself from. On the outside, Alex is an exemplary citizen: a dedicated father and law-enforcer. In reality he is drug-fuelled, dirty cop whose dealings with a powerful gang leave him trapped in a very dark situation.
When a street meeting turns into a gunfight, Alex accidently kills his partner and best friend, Martin. Ridden with guilt, Alex decides to go straight and sends word to the local crime boss, BG, that he is quitting his life of crime. Despite his best intentions, it soon becomes clear that there is no easy exit from the gang and that BG will do everything in his powers to keep him on the dark side. As Alex struggles to cover the tracks that connect him to the scene of Martin’s death, he is assigned a new partner, by-the-book cop Frida Kanto. Her orders are to find enough dirt on Alex to have him prosecuted.
The full series will transmit weekly on Channel 4 at 11pm, starting on Wednesday 26th September at 11pm. The whole six-episode box set will also be available on-demand via Walter Presents after the first episode has aired.
