Josh Brolin and Danny McBride are buddying up to hunt deer for a new Netflix comedy.
From Jody Hill, the director of Observe & Report, Vice Principals and Eastbound Down, The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter follows Buck Ferguson (Josh Brolin), famous for hunting whitetail deer, who plans a special episode of his hunting show around a bonding weekend with his estranged son, Jaden (Montana Jordan). With trusted – but hapless – cameraman and friend Don (Danny McBride) in tow, Buck sets out for what soon becomes an unexpectedly epic adventure of father-son reconnection in the great outdoors.
Also starring Scoot McNairy and Carrie Coon, the comedy is written by Hill, McBride and John Carcieri (Vice Principals, Eastbound Down), and is produced by Scott Rudin, Eli Bush and Jody Hill. McBride is also an Executive Producers, alongside David Gordon Green and Lila Yacoub.
The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter premieres on Netflix on Friday 6th July. Here’s the trailer:
The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
