Trailer: Jimmy Carr’s comedy special hits Netflix this March

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Jimmy Carr’s new comedy special.
At a time when teasers are under fire for revealing most of a movie’s plot before it’s been released, stand-up comedy trailers are a strange beast: all they can do is reveal jokes that you’re going to hear.
In the case of Jimmy Carr, this trailer for Funny Business will confirm whatever opinion you have of him already: the comedian has made a name for his offensive, edgy jokes, which means that if you like him, you know what you’re in for, and if you don’t, you know it won’t be for you.
For Netflix, though, that kind of taster is vital: the VOD giant has established itself as a streaming font for comedy fans, with a rapidly growing library of stand-up shows. Jimmy Carr’s Funny Business, however, marks its first British special, which means a host of US subscribers will be faced with an unfamiliar name. For Carr, meanwhile, the decision not to release a DVD for Christmas and instead opt for VOD gives him access to a global audience previously not reachable with a single DVD.
The one-hour show arrives on Friday 18th March and was recorded last year in front of a sold-out audience at the UK’s Hammersmith Apollo. From midget porn to one-liners, here’s a trailer for what’s in store – plus a poster to boot.
