“This show is a little off the beaten track… Taste it and enjoy!” That’s Jeff Goldblum introducing his new Disney+ series The World According to Jeff Goldblum.
The unscripted documentary series promises to show us the world through the eyes of the actor and jazz musician, who will purr his way through all manner of subjects, from sneakers and denim to ice cream and jewellery. Along the way, we’ll get discussions and insights into tattoos and synchronised swimming, while Jeff will take part in canoeing, cycling, basketball and more, all the while talking to anyone he can about Notting Hill, Korean BBQs and seagull noises – or just breaking out into a song and dance.
He’s not here to be professorial, he promises in the trailer: “I know nothing, that’s the premise.”
Produced by National Geographic, the series will be available on Disney+ when it launches on 12th November in the US – but, at present, not in the UK. Whether it will be available via existing UK subscription service DisneyLife or even Sky, which has a deal with Disney in the UK, is not yet clear.
