Amazon is preparing to drop its first unscripted Indian original series this March. The Remix will be India’s first web music reality show and will see top DJs and singers come up with incredible spin-offs to Bollywood music.
Produced by REMIX PRA Greymatter Entertainment, the show will see 10 teams perform in front of celebrity judges Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi and Nucleya. It will be hosted by Karan Tacker.
“We know Indians enjoy reality TV, so we are creating a new original with the best new concepts and local Indian talent. We’re excited to add more variety to our service and continue to reinvent the way Indian customers watch TV,” said Vijay Subramaniam, director, content, Amazon Prime Video India, in a statement.
It is part of a growing push by Amazon into Indian original content, with up to 10 originals from the country reportedly being lined up for 2018. Indeed, The Remix follows its second original series, Breathe, which launched in January worldwide in three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. On the way is another unscripted show, Comicstan, plus dramas Made in Heaven, Mirzapur and 4 More Shots.
The Remix will be released on Friday 9th March. Here’s a trailer:
