Netflix releases images from Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp

Netflix has released the first images from its Wet Hot American Summer special.
The follow-up series to the 2001 comedy sees the original cast members return to Camp Firewood in a story that takes place before the cult film – despite them now being even older than the characters they played 14 years ago.
That means, for those who haven’t seen the film – it never made it to UK cinemas, although it did get released in the Czech Republic in 2002, and is not available on UK VOD – Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler will all share the screen once again for eight episodes.
The movie (which was based on director David Wain’s own experiences) promised all the traditional summer camp traditions – The sex! The muggings! The cover-ups! The malaria! – and also starred Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon, Michael Ian Black, Ken Marino and Joe Lo Truglio.
Now, reuniting with director David Wain and co-writer Michael Showalter, the ensemble will follow events on the first day of camp in 1981, as rivalries simmer, secrets surface, hearts break, and hormones rage…
Here’s your first look – frankly, any series that sees Bradley Cooper and Amy Poelher duetting on keyboard has our vote.
