Trailer: Netflix’s Pine Gap premieres this December

After months of secrecy, Netflix’s new conspiracy thriller is about to be unleashed this December – and a first trailer gives us a teasing glimpse of what’s in store.
Set in the secretive world of intelligence – and, more specifically, the enigmatic US/Australia joint defense facility in central Australia – the six-hour thrillers asks what you would do for the liberal world order, country and those you love.
Filmed across multiple locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory, the co-production between Netflix and the ABC was created by showrunner Greg Haddrick and co-writer Felicity Packard and directed by Mat King. It stars Parker Sawyers (Southside With You), Tess Haubrich (Bleeding Steel, Necromancer), Jacqueline McKenzie (Palm Beach, Romper Stomper, Safe Harbour, Don’t Tell), Steve Toussaint (Fortitude, Berlin Station) and Stephen Curry (Hounds of Love, The King). With a new global player encroaching, and the world inching closer to war, the ensemble finds itself facing questions of trust, betrayal, love and loyalty, as the secrets that bind them threaten to tear them apart.
The official synopsis reads as follows: When a civilian plane is shot down over ______ the search for the true motive threatens the famously strong __________________________ through ______ _______________ … and one tragic mistake.

Netflix announces cast of Australian thriller Pine Gap

Netflix has lined up a host of Australian talent to star in Pine Gap.
Parker Sawyers (Southside With You), Tess Haubrich (Bleeding Steel, Necromancer), Jacqueline McKenzie (Palm Beach, Romper Stomper, Safe Harbour, Don’t Tell), Steve Toussaint (Fortitude, Berlin Station), Stephen Curry (Hounds of Love, The King), Mark Leonard Winter (Cleverman) and Sachin Joab (Romper Stomper The Series, Lion), will lead the cast of the thriller, which is set in the secretive world of intelligence and the enigmatic US/Australia joint defense facility in central Australia.
With a new global player encroaching, and the world inching closer to war, trust, betrayal, love and loyalty all come into question – the show asks what you would do for the liberal world order, country and those you love.
Commissioned by Netflix and the ABC, the show is a Screentime (a Banijay Group company) production – produced by Lisa Scott and Felicity Packard, and executive produced by Rory Callaghan, Bob Campbell and Greg Haddrick and the ABC’s Sally Riley and Brett Sleigh. The international spy thriller was created by showrunner Greg Haddrick and co-writer Felicity Packard and is being directed by Mat King.
The show’s ensemble will be rounded up by Kelton Pell, Lewis Fitz-gerald, Madeleine Madden, Alice Keohavong, Edwina Wren, Jason Chong, and Simone Kessell.
With major support from the South Australian Film Corporation and the South Australian State Government the six-hour series is filming across multiple locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
A Screentime production, Pine Gap is financed by Netflix and the ABC, in association with the South Australian Film Corporation. Additional financial support is being provided by a grant from Screen Territory.

Netflix orders Australian political thriller Pine Gap

Netflix and the ABC are teaming up for a new political thriller.
Called Pine Gap, the six-hour drama is set in and around the enigmatic US/Australia joint defence facility situated in central Australia.
Set in the hidden world of intelligence, PINE GAP exposes the _____________ and the ________________ individuals when our ultimate loyalty is to _________ and not to ________ When a civilian plane is shot down over ______ the search for the true motive threatens the famously strong __________________________ through ______ _______________ … and one tragic mistake.
Created by showrunner Greg Haddrick and co-writer Felicity Packard, it will be produced by Lisa Scott and Packard, and executive produced by Screentime’s Bob Campbell, Rory Callaghan and Haddrick, as well as the ABC’s Sally Riley and Kym Goldsworthy.

With major support from the South Australian Film Corporation and the South Australian State Government, Pine Gap will commence pre-production in Adelaide in November and will film across multiple locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory in 2018.
