There may be more Gilmore Girls to come, Netflix has confirmed, as the streaming giant is in talks with the show’s creators about bringing the series revival back once more.
Last November saw the Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel’s mother and daughter invite us back to Stars Hollow for more pop culture references, gossips and coffee, with Netflix renewing Amy Sherman-Palladino’s classic show for four feature-length episodes: A Year in the Life, one episode for each season.

“A masterclass in the kind of subtle yet effective character development that can slowly yet systematically turn everything on its head,” we wrote in our review of the revival.
“Everything has come full circle, and we can imagine a kind of eternal loop of Gilmore Girls living out their lives, generation after generation, in Stars Hollow. Whether the fans will be shown any of them remains to be seen.”
Now, Neflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, has admitted that we may see them after all, with negotiations with Sherman-Palladino now underway.
“We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped,” Sarandos told the Associated Press. “The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favourite show to come back and for it to disappoint you but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that.”

The bad news? The talks are still only in the “very preliminary” stages. The good news? All four episodes of A Year in the Life, plus all previous seven seasons of Gilmore Girls are on Netflix. You can read our reviews here.
