Netflix will be juggling Love & Anarchy in its new original series from Sweden, produced by the same team as its recent series Quicksand.
From acclaimed screenwriter and director Lisa Langseth, the eight-part comedy/drama features Sofie, a career driven consultant and married mother of two. When Sofie gets an assignment to modernize an old publishing house she meets young IT tech Max, and an unexpected flirting game begins. Sofie and Max secretly challenge each other to do things that question modern day life. It starts innocently enough, but as the game gets more and more daring the consequences grow beyond proportions.
”This has been my dream project for a long time. After working with this story alone in my basement I am so immensely glad to see it present itself together with a fantastic team. I have the best job in the world,” says Langseth.
Langseth serves as the head writer together with Alex Haridi (Quicksand, Blue Eyes, Real Humans). The series will be produced by FLX and the team behind Quicksand; producers Fatima Varhos (Quicksand, Blinded) and Frida Asp (Quicksand, The Bonus family) together with the executive producers Pontus Edgren (100 year old man, Sunny Side) and Martina Håkansson (Happy at Sea, Blinded).
Tesha Crawford, Director of International Originals Netflix Northern Europe, adds: ”We instantly fell in love with this female led project. Not only does the story follows a strong female character, we are also happy to team up with the talented Lisa Langseth and continue the great collaboration with FLX. We are looking forward to bringing this show to life with this amazing team.”
