Fear the Walking Dead is back on our screens this August to complete its fifth season – and the new mid-season trailer fresh from Comic-Con gives us a glimpse of what to expect in Part 2.
After the loss of two characters in Season 4, the fifth run continues with the group banded together by a new leader – Morgan (Lennie James) – and a new mission of hope, as they look to locate survivors and improve the world. But things, of course, are far from simple, following the return of Daniel, the crossover of Dwight and a past that’s impossible to avoid.
Season 5 Episode 9 premieres on 9pm on 12th August on AMC UK from BT TV, within 24 hours of its US broadcast. Here’s the video:

Comic-Con: Fear the Walking Dead trailer teases Season 4 Part 2
21st July 2018
Fear the Walking Dead returns to UK TV this August for Season 4’s second half, and a new trailer teases a changed world, following the events of the controversial mid-season finale.
The video, unveiled by the cast and creators at Comic-Con on Friday night, gives us a look once again at Lennie James’ Morgan Jones, who made the jump from The Walking Dead to AMC’s spin-off at the start of its fourth run. Alongside him is Alycia Debnam-Carey’s Alicia Clark, taking a more prominent lead role for the season’s back end.
The pair will be joined by new cast members, including 12 Monkeys’ Aaron Stanford, comedian Mo Collins, and Lady Bird’s Stephen Henderson, who will play a stranger who encounters Luciana. As well as Luciana, the trailer also gives us a fresh look at another returning face: Colman Domingo’s fan favourite, Strand. And, of course, there’s the promise of Maggie Grace reprising her role as journalist Althea, Jenna Elfman as June, and Garret Dillahunt as John Dorie.
It’s not just the usual question of alliances between humans, though, as Season 4 Part 2 will also introduce a zombie-filled storm, which promises Sharknado-like levels of destruction. Oh, and there’s a wine cellar, which Strand will stumble upon, with Alicia as his drinking buddy.
The series’ new showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg also teased the arrival of a new antagonist: “This person or persons may know our characters even better than they do and have some insights into them that the characters themselves don’t have yet.”
Chambliss also confirmed that Colman Domingo will make his directorial debut in the season’s second half. “We got his director’s cut of the episode and were blown away,” he commented.
Season 4 will return on 13th August on AMC, available exclusively on BT TV (channel 332). It will simulcast at 2am, before repeating at 9pm that evening and will be available on-demand on BT Player. Not got BT TV? You can also catch up with the season’s first half by buying it on Amazon Video.

Trailer: Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 gets April UK air date
14th April 2018
Fear the Walking Dead returns for Season 4 this April, and the new trailer promises a whole horde of new people to go with the new deaths surely on the cards.
One of those new people, though, is a very old person: this season, we see the world of Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and her family through new eyes – the eyes of Morgan Jones (Lennie James), joining the story from the world of The Walking Dead.
The result will create a “new reality” for the survivors, promises AMC, as new threats, friends and foes leave our humans fighting for each other as well as against each other, hoping to somehow build an existence against the crushing pressure of lives coming apart.
Alongside James are two new additions to the drama: Garret Dillahunt (The Mindy Project) and Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg). Lost star Maggie Grace, meanwhile, will also star as Althea. Behind the camera, too, are some new faces, as Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) become the co-showrunners for the programme.
You can see what the end result is on Monday 23rd April at 9pm, when Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 premieres on AMC UK (eight days after its US broadcast). The channel is available exclusively on BT TV – channel 381 (HD) and 332 (SD) – with episodes available on BT Player to watch on-demand after broadcast. Not got BT TV? Season 4 will then be added to Amazon Prime Video at a later date. Not caught up with Fear the Walking Dead? You can currently stream Season 1 and 3 on Amazon Prime Video. Fear The Walking Dead Comic-Con trailer teasers bloody end to Season 3
24th July 2017
Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 will return this September, and its second half will be even bloodier, judging by its new Comic-Con trailer.
AMC’s spin-off series from its zombie smash hit, The Walking Dead, has had a bumpy ride since it first premiered two years ago, with an uneven reception for its first season, which improved with its sophomore run. Now, following a dramatic midseason finale this month, Season 3 is set to return to our screens on Monday 11th September. The show airs exclusively on AMC UK in this country, which is included with BT TV, with episodes avaivable to catch up with on-demand after their broadcast through BT’s YouView platform.
Showrunner Dave Erickson was at the series’ panel this weekend at Comic-Con, promising fans more gore.
“We get a lot bolder and bloodier and more zombie than we’ve ever been on the show,” he teased.
Season 3 has already delivered several big blows, including revelations about Madison’s (Kim Dickens) past and a change of situation for Victor Strand (Colman Domingo). The series’ two strongest players have yet to cross paths in Season 3, but the second half will see them reunite, the cast revealed.
“Madison is transitioning from protecting her family and her extended family to protecting the ranch,” said Dickens, as he character steps into a leadership role.
Victor, meanwhile, has been told by a Russian astronaut in orbit that the zombie plague has gone worldwide.
“It’s a sobering moment. Not only has Strand lost Abigail — and Abigail the boat — but he now realizes there is no place he can go to where life is normal,” Exec Producer Gale Anne Hurd said. “I think it means they’ve come to the realisation that they’ll have to form their own community and rebuild it in a way they never imagined. This is the new lay of the land, and the zombie apocalypse isn’t going to be over anytime soon.”
With the show nearing the point, therefore, when it will overlap with The Walking Dead, will there be a crossover between the two shows? Executive producer Robert Kirkman didn’t rule it out: “It’s really a question of timeline. The Walking Dead Season 8 is so far ahead of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3,” he said. “I think that it’s something we’d love to try and work out. I think the fans would love it. It’s complicated because of that gap, but it’s something we’d love to do eventually.”

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 gets UK air date of 31st August
4th August 2015
Fear the Walking Dead will air on UK TV screens on Monday 31st August, AMC has announced.
The spin-off series from The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC from BT on 9pm. The new channel will be available exclusively to BT customers.
“We’re delighted that our viewers will be able to experience the start of the zombie apocalypse when AMC’s ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ debuts exclusively to BT customers,” says Delia Bushell, Managing Director, BT TV & BT Sport. “We’re only a few weeks away from one of television’s most compelling new dramas, and we’re looking forward to sharing AMC’s outstanding selection of series and films with our customers.”
The show, which spans six episodes for its limted first run, takes us back to the beginning of the zombie apocalypse in Los Angeles – a time when the world was changing rapidly for reasons unknown. It stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Elizabeth Rodriguez as Liza, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia and Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris. It is executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert and showrunner David Erickson and produced by AMC Studios.
The programme is expected to be a hit, with AMC confident enough to have already ordered a 15-episode second season, which will air in 2016. Indeed, this is the first time that AMC has retained broadcast rights for itself outside of the US, instead of selling off a show to an international broadcaster. BT TV customers will not have to do anything to receive AMC on 31st August: it will be automatically added to their channel line-up.
“We’re thrilled to partner with BT for the first-ever launch of AMC in the UK,” says Bruce Tuchman, President of AMC and Sundance Channel Global. “The network will also feature other dramas from AMC Networks including the acclaimed series Rectify from the producers of Breaking Bad to complement its line-up of popular movies.”
Rectify will premiere the following night – Tuesday 1st September – at 9pm. While AMC is expanding its wings, Fear the Walking Dead’s arrival also marks BT’s growing ambition to build up its own TV package. The telecoms giant has already bought up the rights to UEFA Champions League football, which is currently the subject of a large advertising campaign in the UK.
At the time of writing, BT TV starts from £7.50 a month (plus £49 activation fee and £16.99 per month line rental), but to get premium TV channels, it costs £12.50 a month for 12 months (plus the above additional charges).
BT TV’s platform is based around the YouView set top box, which boasts an interface that blends catch-up TV services and linear TV together, allowing users to access free VOD platforms, such as BBC iPlayer, UKTV Play, Demand 5, ITV Player and All 4.
Whereas Sky offers the cord-cutting NOW, though, which provides its premium content to stream at a contract-free monthly fee, BT TV is currently only available as part of a minimum 12-month contract. This means that Fear the Walking Dead will not be available to watch online through a stand-alone VOD platform until after its broadcast.
