German comedian Enissa Amani is heading to Netflix for a new stand-up comedy special.
The streaming giant’s stand-up stage just keeps getting bigger, as it extends its line-up from US talent such as Dave Chapelle to South American comedians such as Natalia Valdebenito, Malena Pichot, Sofía Niño de Rivera, as well as Lebanese comic Adel Karam.
After numerous appearances on comedy stages, in TV shows and films, the award-winning Amani will now be the first German woman to have a stand-up show on Netflix.
With her subtle sense of humour and her wonderfully provocative punch lines, the Iranian-born German-Persian conquered the country’s biggest stand-up stages in no time at all. Fans love her targeted taboo breaks and on January 8th they witnessed the live-taping of her new show in the iconic St. Pauli Theater on Hamburg’s Reeperbahn.
“For us comedians, Netflix is simply the Olympus,” says Amani. “Netflix has an incredible philosophy. They just say ‘We want you. Do what you want in the way you want to do it.’ And that’s what I did.”q
Enissa Amani: Ehrenwort will premiere exclusively on Netflix on Friday 26th April.
