Liz Feldman, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum are teaming up for a new dark comedy series at Netflix.
Titled Dead to Me, the show charts the story of a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret.
It is executive produced by Will Ferrell (LA to Vegas, Drunk History, I’m Sorry), Adam McKay (LA to Vegas, Drunk History, I’m Sorry) and Jessica Elbaum from Gloria Sanchez Productions (I’m Sorry), with Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls) writing as well as exec-producing.
It is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Gloria Sanchez Productions. It marks the continuation of McKay, Feldman and Ferrell’s overall deal at CBS, with Feldman recently working on the studio’s The Great Indoors as well as 2 Broke Girls. It’s a reunion of sorts for McKay and Ferrell, too, who exec-produce No Activity, one of the shows on CBS’ subscription platform, CBS All Access, which is Home to both Star Trek: Discovery and The Good Fight in the US. It also marks the latest comedy project from CBS TV Studios ordered to series by Netflix, including American Vandal and Insatiable.
Netflix has ordered a 10-episode first season.
