Carmen Ejogo will star in Rattlesnake, a new psychological thriller from Netflix.
The film follows a single mother who accepts the help of a mysterious woman after her daughter is bitten by a rattlesnake, but finds herself forced to pay back her “debt” by taking the life of a total stranger in the rural town of Tulia, Texas.
Ejogo, who has impressed in Selma, Roman J. Israel, Esq. and Fantastic Beasts, and will soon be seen in True Detective Season 3, leads a cast that includes Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy, Luke Cazge, Lowriders), and Emma Greenwell (Shameless, Love & Friendship, The Rock).
The project marks something of a reunion for production company Campfire and Netflix. Founded in 2014 by Ross Dinerstein, its recent films include the Netflix Originals Rebirth, Clinical, 1992, 6 Balloons and The Package. Dinerstein will produce Rattlesnake too. Competing the reunion is 1992 helmer Zak Hilditch, who writes and directs the thriller.
Production on Rattlesnake began this week.
