Ash vs Evil Dead is back for Season 3 this week, as the show returns exclusively to Virgin TV in the UK.
The STARZ Original horror-comedy, which is inspired by Sam Raimi’s classic horror movies, first premiered back in 2016, winning a horde of fans with its familiar blend of blood-splattering gore and slapstick silliness. After two seasons, Bruce Campbell is reprising his role as Ash Williams once again, as the chainsaw-wielding anti-hero tries to save the world from evil.
He’s joined by Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Battlestar Galactica) as Ruby, Ray Santiago (Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, and Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man) returning from beyond the grave as Brock Williams. Joining the show this year are Arielle Carver-O’Neill (House Husbands, Suburbs, Conspiracy 365) as Brandy Barr and Lindsay Farris (Home and Away, Primal) as Dalton.
The Evil Dead original filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell serve as executive producers on Season Three along with Ivan Raimi and Rick Jacobson. Mark Verheiden serves as Showrunner with Producer Moira Grant.
Season 3 sees Ash, having gone from urban legend to hometown hero, discover that he has a daughter, Brandy, who has been entrusted in his care. Fatherhood will be as easy as hacking Deadites apart with a chainsaw hand, right? Meanwhile, Kelly witnesses a massacre with their unpredictable foe Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, and returns to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet.
The show was snapped up by Virgin Media in the UK, leading a wave of exclusive box sets on the pay-TV’s on-demand platform, all available to Virgin TV customers with More TV and above packages. Top titles include Kingdom, Imposters and Good Behaviour.
David Bouchier, Chief Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, says: “The return of Ash vs Evil Dead for a third series is a welcome reward for the show’s fast growing and enthusiastic fan base. The impressive production line-up have delivered a plotline that’s gone from strength to strength and this new series is no exception.”
Season 3 premieres on Monday 26th February, only hours after its US debut, with each of the 10 new episodes then arriving every week on Mondays, day and date with their American broadcast. Along with all Virgin TV Exclusives, it is available On Demand through the Virgin TV V6 or TiVo boxes as well as on mobile devices through the Virgin TV Anywhere app available on iOS and Android.
