Watch: New trailer for Netflix’s Outside the Wire

Anthony Mackie is heading to Netflix next week for sci-fi thriller Outside the Wire, and a new trailer gives us a fresh look at the film.
When disgraced drone pilot, Lt. Harp (Damson Idris) is sent into a deadly militarised zone after disobeying orders, he finds himself working for Captain Leo (Anthony Mackie), an android officer tasked with locating a doomsday device before insurgents do. Outside the Wire is directed by Mikael Hafstrom and debuts on Netflix on 15th January.

“Only two people here know who or what I am.” That’s the sound of Anthony Mackie stepping into the leading action man spotlight for Netflix’s sci-fi thriller Outside the Wire.
Set in the future, the film follows a drone pilot sent into a deadly militarised zone where he finds himself working for an android officer tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do. It is written by Rob Yescombe and Rowan Athale and directed by Mikael Håfström (Escape Plan, 1408, Evil).
Mackie stars as the captain, with Damson Idris playing the drone pilot. They will be joined on screen by Emily Beecham. You can see them all in action on 15th January when the film hits Netflix. Here’s the explosive trailer:
Damson Idris and Emily Beecham join Netflix’s Outside the Wire

Damson Idris (Snowfall, Black Mirror) and Emily Beecham (Little Joe, Daphne) have joined Netflix’s Outside the Wire.
Set in the future, the film follows a drone pilot sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do.
It is written by Rob Yescombe and Rowan Athale and directed by Mikael Håfström (Escape Plan, 1408, Evil).
Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is producing for Automatik, alongside Ben Pugh and Erica Steinberg for 42, which has a multi-year first-look development, financing and production deal for feature films with Netflix. Jason Spire is also producing for Inspire Entertainment, as well as Anthony Mackie. Executive Producers include Josh Horsfield, Fred Berger for Automatik; Rory Aiken for 42 and David U. Lee for Leeding Media. Charlie Morrison is a co-producer for 42.
Idris and Beecham join the previously announced Anthony Mackie. Idris will co-lead alongside Mackie. He also stars in Farming which is inspired by Akinnuoye-Agbaje real-life experience with the practice of farming, a term used in the 60s in reference to Nigerian immigrants coming to Britain who would foster their children out to poor white working-class families in order to create a better opportunity for themselves. Once they had accomplished what they set out to do, they would pick up their children and return to Africa to rebuild their lives. Idris recently won the Best Performance in a British Feature Film prize at the Edinburgh Film Festival for this performance. Beecham most recently earned the Best Actress Award at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival for the film Little Joe.
Principal photography will start later this summer.
Anthony Mackie will go Outside the Wire for Netflix

Anthony Mackie is heading back to Netflix for his next film, Outside the Wire.
The Avengers and The Hurt Locker star appeared in Season 5 of Black Mirror, released by Netflix this week. Now, within days of its debut, the streaming giant has announced that Mackie will star in its new original film, Outside the Wire.
Written by Rob Yescombe and Rowan Athale, the movie is set in the future, where a drone pilot is sent into a deadly militarized zone. There, he finds himself working for an android officer tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do.
It’s not just a reunion for Mackie. 42 and Automatik are producing – Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Automatik, Ben Pugh and Erica Steinberg for 42, and Jason Spire for Inspire Entertainment. Mackie will also produce, with Josh Horsfield, Fred Berger for Automatik and Rory Aiken for 42 on board as a executive producers.
Netflix previously partnered with Automatik and 42 on In The Shadow of the Moon starring Boyd Holbrook, Michael C. Hall, Cleopatra Coleman and Bokeem Woodbine which will be released later this year. 42 has a multi-year first-look development, financing and production deal for feature films with Netflix.
Mikael Håfström (Escape Plan, 1408, Evil) will direct, with photography to start later this summer.
