Competition: Win 3 months of MUBI and The Blue Room
Matthew Amalric’s seductive thriller The Blue Room arrives exclusively on MUBI on Sunday 25th September – and we’re giving away a three-month subscription so you can watch it for free.
The film, directed by the French actor and former Bond villain (in Quantum of Solace), is based on the novel of the same name by crime writer Georges Simenon. It follows Julien (Amalric), a middle-aged salesman embroiled in a love affair with a married woman (co-writer Stephanie Clea). Fast forward not very far and Julien finds himself caught up in a police case – but the truth behind the investigation is chillingly hard to find.
“A quietly gripping chamber piece that seduces with its intoxicating mystery,” we wrote in our review of the film.
The film screened as part of Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival, where the subscription VOD service snapped up the UK rights to the movie. After releasing the film in UK cinemas on Friday 9th September, the film is added exclusively to MUBI’s library on Sunday 25th September – and will then be available for 30 days to stream.
A monthly subscription costs £5.99 a month, or £47.88 for 12 months, with other exclusives on the way, including Rachel Lang’s Baden Baden (now in cinemas), Eugene Green’s The Son Of Joseph and Cannes’ Un Certain Regard winner The Happiest Day In The Life of Olli Mäki.
To celebrate the release of The Blue Room, we’re giving away three giftcards for three months of MUBI, plus three copies of Simenon’s book.
